I list and sell many “rural” mountain properties, most of them utilized as weekend getaways/vacation homes that may be of consideration as a full time residence in later years.  Most of my buyers come from the DC suburbs (MD, NVA), the Baltimore and surround Maryland areas and lower PA.  They continually ask for either water access or views.  This home has the views, of which I have to describe as “unbelievable”.  You must come out to take a look, if views are one of your top priorities.  We are talking 180 degree, scenic vista and long range panoramic views with 8 mountain ranges to be observed.  The owners have provided photos that show colorful sunsets, with these westerly views.  They also tell me that the moonlit nights are fabulous. I can send these photos, along with numerous other photos of the interior of “the cabin”.   The chalet was built in 1982.  Not large, but more than adequate, with a main level bedroom (and access to a full bath), along with an upper loft bedroom that also has direct access to a full bath along with a small upper deck that gives you opportunity to take in a breath of fresh air.  The main level gives an open feel with the kitchen and greatroom that has a vaulted ceiling and brick fireplace (gas fired).  Extending off the great room is a terrific sunroom (heated/cooled) with walls of glass that take in these terrific views.  This is where you will most definitely spend most of your “free time” in relaxing and/or entertaining.  There is also an attached front deck in which to take in your meditating time and in enjoying the great views.  This cabin has numerous upgrades since 2015, which does include a new roof.  With much exposed wood on the interior, the place is cozy beyond description. The property does have it’s own septic system and uses a cistern for the water source. The chalet is situated on a 5.07 acre lot. The long driveway winds down through the land to the homesite. The land itself is all wooded, with most of the ground cover in interesting stones and rocks.  A natural “rock garden” that requires little or no maintenance.  You won’t need to worry about mowing here!  The exterior of the cabin is T-111 stained siding. The roof is architectural shingle. There is a nice shed that matches the Chalet in color and construction materials. You can tell when approaching the property that everything is meticulously maintained, and that carries on into the interior.  The property is located in a subdivision is known as “Cabin at Capon Bridge”.  This is a mountainous, rural subdivision, just a couple miles of State Route #50.  The property is less than 10 minutes outside Capon Bridge, WV, and a half-hour from Winchester, Virginia.  The county seat of Hampshire County, Romney, is 20 minutes farther west on Rt.50. The property has an Augusta mailing address, although closer to Capon Bridge. Covenants are fairly minimal here, with annual dues for road maintenance set at $110.
